Driving from Auckland to Mangonui

The small settlement  Mangonui is located approximately 310km North of Auckland. It is a 4-4.5 hour drive.

Follow State Highway 1 (SH1) north travelling past Whangarei City (160km). Just before Kawakawa there is a junction where SH1 turns sharply to the LEFT. Should you miss this turn the road goes straight ahead to the Bay of Islands and Paihia

There is a further junction 13km north of Kawakawa where State Highway 10 (SH10) turns RIGHT off SH1. The sign at the turnoff to SH10 reads "Kerikeri, Bay of Islands and Doubtless Bay".

Follow SH10 for 75km. The road passes two turn offs to Kerikeri before reaching the small town of Kaeo . Just past Kaeo SH10 turns LEFT across a bridge. If you miss this turn you will head for Whangaroa Harbour.

Watch for the turn off on your right to the village of Mangonui  there are two turn offs quite close together. Take either turn off and travel around the waterfront of Mangonui you will see the wharf and you should find Enchanter tied alongside or she maybe returning from a trip.
