Enchanter is a 56ft designed by Haig in Whangarei and built by Robertson Boat Builders in 1982.  She is made of solid Kauri with a total laden weight of 32 tonnes.  Designed specifically for commercial work and fitted out for charter. Powered by twin Detroits, she cruises at 10knots with a top speed of 15knots.

Inside the cabin is fitted for large groups comfort with two large dining tables and seating for 12 or more, TV, DVD and stereo etc. The crew runs a tight ship in the galley providing all the cooking and food preparation whether food is supplied or we do all the catering.  Two stoves, microwave, large urn, fridge, bbq hotplate, toaster and oven makes a very functional kitchen.

Downstairs and up forward are three separate cabins fitted with nice long wide bunks for eight with good ventilation and light. A full sized normal home toilet and shower bathroom is at the stern of the vessel easily accessible. The crew have stern quarters away from the charter group.

Up on the Bridge, which is fully enclosed is seating for ten or more, a great viewing platform with 360 degree vision, thirty rod holders and two offshore liferafts. The main helm is situated on the bridge.  Set up with the latest commercial electronic computer systems.  3D Seabed mapping, Computer GPS Chartplotter, internet & email, commercial Furuno sounder, Radar, SSB, VHF, autopilot, sea-surface temperature recorder and sound system. Halogen flood lights are also set up for night fishing with a 300 metre flood range. Excellent for livebait fishing and bluefin tuna.

On the deck is a three tonne fish hold complete with food storage and drink storage lockers.  Four livebait tanks, one deck tank and three underwater platform tanks can store over 100 livies. Each trip takes around a tonne of flake ice to keep all fish in excellent condition from the time they are caught. Fish are processed, filleted, boned and bagged on the trip home ready for the freezer on return.
